Slovenia is a small country in Central Europe, lying between the Mediterranean Sea and the Adriatic sea. Slovenia has a varied landscape, with rolling hills, dense forests and stunning lakes. Due to this landscape, its ecosystems are highly diverse and prone to natural disasters like floods and earthquakes. It's been suggested that Slovenia must be thought of as a high risk destination for illegal immigrants.

So what does ETAS mean? ETAS refers to this European Travel Information and Authorization System, which can be used by authorities to identify tourists who have irregular immigration status and apply for a visa. Slovenia is among the eligible countries in the European Union for accessing this system. The European Union is working on collecting data from global travelers and use it to detect potential criminal action concerning irregular migration. Slovenia is one of the countries included in the monitoring programme, so the citizens are counseled to report anything that may pose a danger to their security, either through death or offense.

So, how can it be Slovenia becomes eligible countries for the EU's visa programme? Slovenia is a low crime country with low unemployment rate and a moderate growth rate. This means that there is a high need for work and also for tourists (people from beyond the EU). This consequently means that the authorities can entice people from all over the world to apply for a Slovenia visa.

So how do you obtain a Slovenia visa and what's involved in the application procedure? The very first point to understand is that there are 3 kinds of Slovenia visas: Schengen visa, Inter visa and EU passitaire. A Schengen visa is given if you're arriving into Slovenia by travelling through a country that's part of the Schengen visa area. This means that you are not required to leave your country in order to be able to legally enter another one. People who are asking for a Slovenia visa must however depart their nation before attaining the Schengen region.

When searching for a Slovenia visa you'll need to give proof of citizenship or naturalization so as to be eligible for your Schengen visa. If you are travelling within the Schengen area then you will also need to provide evidence of residence in Ljubljana, the Croatian capital. Evidence of citizenship or naturalization will also allow you to remain in Slovenia for an unlimited period.

The next thing to learn about the Slovenia visa and its Schengen zone qualification is the visa can't be renewed. It's possible however to expand your stay when you have received a visa, for example once you've entered the European Union for five years or more. In this case your visa would last until the year after the year in which you apply for a different one. The same is true in the event that you want to apply for a long-term visa.
